Overview
21 days of exploring Samburu reserve, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo West Safari and Kenya‘s biggest city Nairobi. Tanzania also has wide nature and wildlife in Serengeti, Ngorongoro National Park, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park.
Day 1: Transfer to the Hotel in Nairobi
Welcome to Kenya, upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta international airport on day one, you will be welcomed by our experienced safari driver who will pick you and brief you as you head to your reserved hotel in Nairobi city. Embark on an evening Nairobi city tour visiting some unique attractions including the Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe center at an additional cost. Day 2: Transfer to Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, you will be picked up by our company representative in Kenya who will brief you about this 12 days Kenya adventure as you set off on your 6-7 hour journey to Samburu National Game Reserve where you will arrive at lunch time. Have your meal, relax abit and embark on an afternoon game drive in this stunning Reserve in the Northern part of Kenya to spot plenty of animals including Lions, Zebras, Hippos, Reticulated Giraffe, Oryx Antelopes many more. You will later on return to your lodge for dinner and overnight sleep. Ashnil Samburu Camp or Samburu Riverside Camp
Day 3: Full day in Samburu National Reserve
Arise and shine in this stunning reserve in Northern part of Kenya, you will have breakfast served and packed lunch will be given because you are not returning back to the lodge. After which you will be picked up by your Safari driver/ guide for a full day game drive in this beautiful Reserve spotting plenty of wildlife including the Big 5 game with exception of the Rhinos. Amongst the animals to look out for in Samburu Reserve include Oryx, Zebras, Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Cheetahs, Gerenuk, Leopards and many more. After spending an entire day over here you will retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight sleep as above.
Note: There is an optional activity of visiting the Samburu homesteads for a cultural tour/ experience.
Days 4: Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on 4hour journey from Samburu National Game Reserve to Ol-Pejeta Conservancy which was once called Sweet waters. Ol-Pejeta is such a stunning and privately owned Conservancy situated in between the ranges of Mount Kenya and Mount Aberdare. You will reach in lunch time and enjoy your meal, after continue with afternoon game drive where you can even spot some cattle grazing alongside wildlife. You will enjoy a game drive in Ol-Pejeta. You may as well enjoy a visit a Jane Good all chimpanzee sanctuary. After exploring drive to the camp for dinner and an overnight. Sweet waters Serena Camp
Day 5: Chimpanzee Sanctuary
After breakfast, you will take time to visit the Sweetwater Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which is the only place where this endangered species can be seen in Kenya. Originally established by the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and the Jane Good all Institute to provide a home for orphaned chimpanzees, this sanctuary has become home to 43 chimpanzees and counting. Drive back to the lodge for lunch, relax. Dinner and overnight at the above lodge
Day 6: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park & afternoon game drive
After breakfast at your lodge, check out of the lodge and set off on a journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru National park is such stunning destinations in Kenya where you will experience fascinating wildlife viewing safari in Lake Nakuru national park Kenya with plenty of tourist attractions. Lake Nakuru national park is situated in the north of Nairobi city, the capital city of Kenya.
Upon park arrival, you be welcomed on an en-route game drive during which you will see wildlife species such as giraffes, rhinos, gazelles, buffalos, antelopes, among others as you head to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will have another game drive in Lake Nakuru national park and you will visit the flamingo filled Lake Nakuru which is a good birding spot to see flocks of flamingos along the lake shores as well as other bird species and wildlife species grazing in the nearby plains. You will be driven back to your lodge after your evening game drive to have your dinner and an overnight. Flamingo Hill Tented Camp or Enjoro Camp
Day 7: Transfer to Lake Naivasha & Boat cruise
After breakfast, finally exit Lake Nakuru for Lake Naivasha with in the rift valley region where are expected to arrive in time for lunch. Proceed to check in at the lodge, have your lunch and embark on an afternoon boat cruise to watch several mammals as they flock the shores of Lake Naivasha to quench their thirst. You will also view plenty of aquatic species such as hippos, crocodiles, and several water birds.
Later in the evening you may choose to spend your evening at leisure or have a guided walking safari to explore different corners of the rift valley region on foot. This is a fascinating and adventurous activity as it enables tourists to even explore the parts of the park that are not easily reached while on a game drive. As the sun goes down, you will return for dinner and overnight at the lodge. Naivasha west beach camp
Days 8: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
After enjoying breakfast at your lodge, you will be picked up by your guide from the lodge and set off on your drive from Lake Naivasha national park to Masai Mara National Reserve. Masai Mara national reserve is a very rewarding Kenya safari destination famous for habiting a variety of wildlife and experiencing the exceptional great wildebeest migration.
Offering easy views of animals living in the reserve, animals found and spotted in Masai Mara national reserve include lions, cheetahs, leopards, cape buffaloes, rhinos, wildebeests, hartebeests and many more. Proceed with your journey to Masai Mara National Reserve where you will arrive in late afternoon for lodge check in, have lunch and embark on an evening game drive till the sun goes down. You will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Mara Sarova Luxury Tented Camp or Ol Moran tented camp
Day 9&10: Full day excursion in Masai Mara National Reserve
Breakfast will be served at your lodge, dedicate day 5&6 to game viewing experience with in Masai Mara national reserve. During your game drive, you will see a variety of wildlife species such as the predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs as well as other wildlife species like elephants, buffalos, hartebeest, zebras, antelopes as well as wildebeest which are among the spectacular sights at this destination especially during the time of the wildebeest migration as large numbers of wildebeest move around the savannah plains in search of greener pastures.
You will have picnic lunch in the bush and after continue with game driving. You will return to your lodge where your dinner will be served and you will spend the night in the comfort of your lodge as above.
Day 11: Transfer Serengeti national park via Isebania border
After breakfast, check out from the lodge and depart from Masai NP, with enroute lunch to Tanzania’s Serengeti NP. Cross from Kenya to Tanzania via Isebania border and continue to Serengeti NP. Namiri Plains Serengeti Pioneer Camp or Tortilis Camp
Day 12&13: Full day game drive in Serengeti NP
After breakfast, we will head for a full day game drive in the wilderness tracking the Great migration trails. Having picnic lunch, witness a million wildebeests. Great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. Dinner and overnight at the above lodge
Day 14: Transfer to Ngorongoro NP via Olduvai Gorge
A short morning safari in Serengeti to view some animals you missed in the previous game drives. Depart from Serengeti after lunch to Ngorongoro NP, stop over at Olduvai Gorge to learn about its rich history. Arrive at your place of camp site for dinner and overnight. Day 15: Full day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will depart for a full day game drive at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. It is not a national park in the strict sense of the word but was rather established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It exists to safeguard the interests of indigenous people as well as promote tourism. Thus, guests on safari have the unique experience of seeing Maasai herdsmen with their cattle among the tremendous variety of wildlife found in the area. Day 16&17: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast transfer to the nearby lake Manyara NP. After breakfast, we will set off to Lake Manyara National Park for yet another exciting game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is a scenic lake that made Ernest Hemingway exclaims “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and if you’re lucky, you can expect to see 100 of these in one day. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. Have a picnic lunch and after continue with game viewing until evening. Dinner and overnight at Manyara wildlife safari camp or Twiga camp
Day 18&19: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up by your tour guide who will take you to Tarangire National Park, located in Manyara Region. Tarangire is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania after Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi, Katavi, and Mkomazi. With enroute lunch and later proceed for game drive upon arrival. Activities will include a wildlife game drive where you can see pythons climb trees, as well as lions and leopards among others. For the bird lovers, keep an eye for the screeching flocks of colorful Yellow-collared lovebirds, and the somewhat drabber Rufous-tailed weaver and ashy starling. These are all endemic to the dry savannah of north-central Tanzania. Swala Safari Camp or Baobab Tented Camp
Day 20: Transfer to Nairobi
After breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Arusha. In 2 or 3 hrs, you will stop at the Namanga border in Tanzania. Get off the car along with others and get in line in the Immigration Control of Tanzania. They will simply stamp out your passport and you’re good to go.
Reach in Nairobi late evening, check in, dinner and a night at the Hotel. Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi
Day 21: Transfer to Jommo Kenyatta International Airport
After breakfast, you will visit Nairobi city with enroute lunch and after you will transfer to Jommo Kenyatta International Airport for departure back home.
